The conventional Japanese-English pattern-based translation method is
as follows [5].
- Step 1
- Prepare Japanese-English translation patterns and
Japanese-English word pairs.
- Step 2
- Input an Japanese sentence.
- Step 3
- Search for a Japanese translation pattern that matches
the input of Step 2.
- Step 4
- Output an English translation pattern corresponding to
the English translation pattern made in Step 3.
- Step 5
- Generate a English sentence by using the
Japanese-English word pairs and English translation patterns.
Table 1 shows an example of Japanese-English pattern
translation, and Table 2 shows examples of Japanese-English
word pairs.
